Define "stops before conversion is completed."

This can take a LONG time with the hourglass up and Money reported as Not
Responding by the operating system. If this is what you mean, let it run
overnight or something without panicking and killing it.

If, OTOH, it crashes, you may want to consider running the salv utility on
your old data file before trying the upgrade. Salv should be available from
the MSKB.
