I sold a stock short.

It DID show up as "Short Sell" in the "Investment
Transactions" page. It did NOT show up in "Cash
Transactions" page.

I bought the stock back.

It DID show up as "Cover Short" in the "Investment
Transaction" page. It ALSO DID show up under the "payee"
column in the "Cash Transactions" page and deducted the
amount of the repurchase (short cover) from my Cash
account.

So, I now have a shortage in my cash account equal to the
amount of the Cover. In other words, the short never
showed up as a debit, but the cover DID show up as a
credit. Therefore the account is out of balance.
