Default Re: Passport login fails

I have the same problem with Money 2003 on a new XP Pro computer (all
updates installed). My Passport works fine elsewhere (OE, MSN Messenger),
but trying to sign in to Passport via Money just waits indefinitely.

I've tried all the fixes below and none of them worked for me.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Gary

Default Passport login fails

Thanks so much for the little piece of advice listed
below. I was going nuts trying to figure out why my
Passport is valid when logging in through passport.com
and why money wouldn't accept my credentials. registered
that dll and it's working now.

Default Passport login fails

One of the current troubleshooting steps to resolve
the .Net sign in problem is to test if you can sign into
a Money file using another Passport account. If you are
unable to sign into any Money file using any Passport
account then we should have you try and register the
msxml3.dll file on their system.

Other applications may have changed the msxml3.dll file's
registry settings,
which makes Passport sign in always fail for Microsoft
Money. Users can find the file msxml3.dll generally in
the Windows\System32 or Windows\System
folder. Once the customer has found the file, they will
need to register it by doing the following steps.

1. Click on Start and choose Run.

2. Type "regsvr32 msxml3.dll" without quotes and making
sure to put a space in between.

3. Click OK

Hugh,

I had a similar problem and went through the same steps with no success.
Eventually, the MS Money escalated support sent me the following
instructions:
1. Click on Start and choose Run.
2. Type "regsvr32 msxml3.dll" without quotes and making sure to put a space
in between.
3. Click OK
4. If the file can not be found then the customer may need to type
"regsvr32" and a space and then the location of the msxml3.dll file

This fixed the problem for me.

hth,
Steve M.

Default Passport login fails

In Money 2004, my passport login started failing. MS Support had me:

1. Delete client.xml
2. Uninstall/Install Money
3. Delete all temporary files

They don't seem to have a clue as to the cause.

I can install on another machine going thru same router, isp, etc and the
login works fine.

Any suggestions?
