| John, In the past, there have been a number of times when this has occured for me. I have found the clicking make adjustments, usually does not work and caused more problems. I have found two or three things that can cause this problem. One is a corput file. The program salv.exe tthat can be found either on the website, the CD or in your MS MONEY files, can sometimes fix the problem. If you run the SALV.EXE file and it does not fix the problem then the next thing I would try is see if you have accidently clicked on a Reconciled Transaction and unreconciled it. I have found three or four times over the past years, that a transaction, sometimes months back, has changed status. Look for that next. Then look for transactions that you have not entered (which most likely will not be the case-I assume you have probably done this). The last thing I have had to do is to pull up a backed up Money file and reenter all the data since the backed up date. This can be a pain, but I have had to do that to fix the probem. Microsoft Online has helped me also, by exporting and then importing a backed up account, but this can be troublesome too. I do not like to do this I backup daily and then do a different backup weekly, so incase this happens, I can fix the problem by changing to the backup. It will never correct itself, and will continue indefintly if you don't fix get it fixed. Let me know if any of this helps. | Can someone pls. help me here? I have been working to try and resolve this starting balance issue with no luck. I have been able to reconcile the transactions of my most current bank statement. In short the difference is now zero. However, when I try and close out the balancing process I receieve a message that states "The starting balance calculated from your money records still does not match the starting balance entered from your statement." The amount is ($3,107.21). Should I have the application go ahead and make an adkustment for me? What are the pros and cons of this approach? -regards, John |
