Default Re: Unable to transfer to Mortgage account

You go to the account you want to move the money FROM to put it against the
Loan balance. There you should be able to enter a Loan Payment : [name of
Loan Account] transaction. You can look at the details for that Loan Payment
(Split.) and see two entries: one is a Principal Transfer. Set that to the
amount you are transferring. The other is some kind of interest expense.
Delete that one.

I don't know about your crashes: have you tried File|Repair?

I'm using Money Ver 2004 with Advanced Register.

I cant quite following your suggestion. I clicked the Mortgage account then
selected 'New'. There is the option of 'Make a regular payment', 'Make an
extra payment' and 'Other'. I'm unable to find 'Loan Payment' or Principal
Transfer components. Please can you advise.

Also, when I click on the Mortgage Account, Money crashes and then restarts
automatically. I've put this question up on the forum as well (above this
forum question), but I wondered if you are aware of this problem and could
suggest what I can do..?

Thank you in advance.
Regards.

I don't know why they designed it this way but they won't let you enter a
Transfer to a Loan Account.

The workaround is to use a Loan Payment:[name of loan account] and eliminate
all but the Principal Transfer components. This makes it one transaction in
both accounts unlike the method you used.

I'm assuming you are not using Money Essentials (MEss) and, if using M05 or
newer, are using Advanced Register.

Default Unable to transfer to Mortgage account

Hi

I select 'Transfer' from the current acount but in the 'To' field, the
Mortage account (which is under Loans and Liabilities on the Account List),
is NOT there.

I had to make a 'Payment' in the current account. Then goto the Mortgage
acount and select 'New' then 'Other' payment.

Please can you advise why I am unable to transfer from the current to the
mortage account?

Thank you.
