I doubt that this setting is relevant to this problem: Tools-> Settings-> AccountSettings(global)-> ConfirmNewPayees [will give you the option to not add a payee to the list that you are using one time only, but it does not work for downloaded payees. |

I guess, the initial problem is, that new payees are not added to the list (and, actually, more and more old entries seem to get dropped, too. My payee list is more and more like a swiss cheese...). That entries are then not found and whence the entry can not be completed seems to me to be just a consequential effect. Michael |

| Good ol' MS Money used to memorize payee names. When one started typing a name, usually three or four characters were enough for money to fill the rest of the input form with the details of the last transaction to/from the same payee. For some strange reason this does not work any more with Money Plus and I find it increasingly annoying that I have to type longish payee names and other details again and again and again. What could cause this??? I first thought, that Money Plus tends to forget old payees (i.e. that it simply had a limited MRU list, that it would select from) but that's obviously not the case. Even recent payees (e.g. just 1 month since the last entry) are not found the next time I enter some amount to/from them again. I also noticed, that the non-memorized payees do not show up any more under the Payees list. Luckily at least the original entry remains untouched, but e.g. searching in most cases doesn't yield a hit any more. Due to this, I have to say, I find Money more and more useless. If it doesn't provide these misc. convenient functions during data entry then I could as well use some spreadsheet to manage my accounts... Michael |
