I would post into microsoft.public.uk.money for a suggestion as to locating the software you need. If you locate and install Money 2005 UK, make sure you open a copy of Sample.mny, available in the install folder first. That will let Money download a needed update. Reboot, and then open your real file or backup. |

| M$ stopped selling Money Standard after 2006 and, at the same time, began selling Money Essentials. This has caused a lot of confusion. Money Standard was a basic functional Money Program without some of the frills that were in Deluxe; while Money Essentials is a totally stripped down (and in almost everyone's opinion, useless) program. It is NOT able to read data files created by any other version of Money. The update route from Money Standard 200x is Money Plus Deluxe. That's just the way it is. -- Peace, BobJ "winyard" <winyard[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:A6B5800F-081C-486B-8D21-D8BBE4D98E0B[at]microsoft.com... - quote - > I have an earlier version of Money, I think it is Money 2005, although not > 100% sure as I can not find the installation disk anywhere, and haven't > yet > installed it on the laptop I purchased a couple of months ago. > My accounts have been recorded using Microsoft Money for the past 8 years > and I still have the .mny file. | I have an earlier version of Money, I think it is Money 2005, although not 100% sure as I can not find the installation disk anywhere, and haven't yet installed it on the laptop I purchased a couple of months ago. My accounts have been recorded using Microsoft Money for the past 8 years and I still have the .mny file. I have downloaded Microsoft Money Plus 2008 and then tried to both open my mny file and backup my backup.mny file but received error messages saying earlier versions could not be imported. The same thing happened when I installed Money Essentials 2008. I am a little baffled as to why Money 2008 can not import earlier versions, this seems ludicrous! Is there anyway that I can access my existing .mny file? My accounts are due soon and I really need to start working on this and adding data for 2008 but am stumped as to how I can access the file!? Any help very much appreciated. |
