Cal, Think I've got it thanks to you. I found your response to redlodge on 3/20/05. In it, you say to change the settings to include deposits (since a negative expense is put in as a deposit). Then, under the Categories tab, click Expense categories and unclick transfers. Works perfectly in the Reports section. However, when I go back to the Home Page, I notice that the settings I changed are not reflected on the Spending by Category section. According to your response to Marcell on 8/26/05, you said changes made to reports were not reflected on the Home Page. Just as well -- I think by deleting this chart from the Home Page it will load faster. I guess I should have checked the archives before posting. Thanks for your help (both past and present).

Cal, Thanks for the quick response, but I'm not sure what you mean by "You should try implementing the report settings that exist." If I use the report called "Transactions by Category" it shows both the positive and negative expenses properly (netting to zero). If I use the the report "Spending by Category," the pie chart reflects only the positive expenses, not the offsetting negative expenses. I clicked on "Customize Report" but I don't see any report settings that would affect this issue. Thanks for your response.

I'm hoping someone from Microsoft monitors this board so that they can fix what I believe is a bug in the Money pie charts. I use Money Plus Deluxe, but this is a problem that has consistently been in whatever version of Money I've used throughout the years. The issue is that expense pie charts do not reflect negative expenses properly. For example, when I put in business expenses, the offsetting reimbursements from my company (which go in as negative expenses) do not net to zero on the pie charts. Let's say I have a business trip which cost $1,000. I put the transaction in as a $1,000 business expense. When I get my $1,000 reimbursement, I put this in as a negative $1,000 expense. The category "Business Expenses" shows properly as $0 for the month on Money expense reports, but shows as $1,000 for the pie charts. I hope this can be fixed in future versions of the program.
