Thanks Cal and Dick, the first time I tried this I thought the history was
lost, but after your suggestion I tried it again and found the history did
remain intact.--

As Cal note, there is a Transfer Out investment activity that does what you
say you want to do. You use it similar to how you enter a Buy or a Sell
except it needs to know the target account where the position is going.
There may be some reasons not to go this way. Before doing things like this,
always make a copy of your file--sometimes it's the easiest way to undo.

IMO, if you are transferring the entire contents of the account to
another account, I would prefer to rename the account and to change
its account number.

If you TransferOut, the history will stay with the old account,
while the shares the basis will move to the new account. The basis
information will not be obvious however.

I have a similiar question. I am moving several brokerage accounts with a
lot of history to a new broker. I want to make sure the history carries
over. My thought is to disable online updates create the new accounts use
the transfer function in money to move the history and positions to the new
account. Then enable online updates on the broker. I was wondering if I
could just edit the old account settings to change the account number and
broker and and then enable the online update function.
