Even with the newest UK versions, the only UK institution with
direct OFX access is Nationwide.

For web QIF or OFX access, you don't actually have to set up the
account for online access. Just File-> Import. The first version to
be able to import version 2 OFX was Money 2002. So if that is what
you are doing, you would need Money 2002 ... 2005.

Be aware that there is a microsoft.public.uk.money group where
people are more tuned into the use of Microsoft Money in the UK.

Yes, with Barclays Bank, which is listed as a supported financial institution.

I don't think the message would go away if you had dialup. Probably
some server that it is trying to reach no longer exists. Were you
trying to set up an account for online access?

Hi,

Unfortunately this does not solve my problem. I have tried ticking the
"Leave my connection open..." checkbox, this will just mean that MSM99 will
not try to "hang up" the connection after it is made (in all honesty, it
shouldn't be able to do this anyway even if it tried).

The exact error I get is:

"An Internet communication error has occurred. Please try your call again
later. (BDSIE12029)"

Since it says "please try your call" I imagine it is trying to create a
dial-up connection, but can't because my system only has broadband (my house
does not have a phone line).

I think Money 99 worked with broadband. I sure Money 2000 and later
do. In Tools-> Options-> Connection, you would want to select
LeaveMyInternetContectionOpen....

Default First MSM version supporting broadband?

Hi, I have been using Microsoft Money 99 for quite some time now. However I
am interested in the online functionality, and it doesn't work because it
expects me to be connecting through a modem (dial-up link). I am guessing
that more recent versions allow connection through ADSL broadband (e.g.
Ethernet, WiFi, VPN tunnel etc)? Since I live in the UK, I believe I cannot
use the latest "Money" for this purpose, but I could upgrade to Money 2000,
2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 or 2005. Which of these supports broadband link as
above? Ideally I would want to upgrade to one of the earliest possible
versions of Money (under this restriction), as I am quite used to the way
MSM99 works, and don't want too many changes.
