| All of this sounds about right to me. Yodlee is a "third party" data provider for Money. You put in your password/account info you'd use to login into the FIs website and Yodlee does it on your behalf. It's called "screen scraping". | I believe I am talking about an investment style account. To tell you the truth, I'm pretty new to all of this. I elected to open an HSA with Chase Bank. According to the Chase website, when my HSA is opened and activated, I will have two separate accounts: a cash account and an investments account. When I deposit money into my HSA, it goes into the cash account, and then when I buy a fund or security with that money it is listed/tracked in the investment account. Then, when I want to withdraw money, I sell the security, the money moves back to my cash account, and I can withdraw it. In Money, this action seems to be mirrored exactly by the Investment style account. So I'm sure I could do it manually, but I guess my main desire/concern was for Money to be able to update and keep track of everything completely automatically like it does my other accounts. On a side note, when I log into Yodlee directly via the web, I notice that Yodlee is set up to handle Chase HSA accounts. One of the supported institutions from the drop-down list is "Chase - HSA." Does this mean anything in terms of Money's ability to automatically update a Chase HSA account? Money/OFX/Yodlee...all this stuff makes my head spin. Thanks! | My last answer may have been brain-damaged. Are you taking about an Investment style Saving account, not a flexible spending account? I would suspect most of these look like Investment accounts and that they might come down via Yodlee even if not explicitly listed. Even at that, doing the account by hand needn't be that hard. |

| Are you using Money Essentials (MEss)? The reason I ask is that for all the activity most HSAs see, doing everything by hand just does not seem like that big a burden. Besides, the typical HSA cycle is Transfer money in, Transfer Money out. In each case there is likely to be an account involved in Money that CAN do the automagic stuff. | I am looking for an institution to open a HSA with, and ideally I would like this institution to have their HSAs work with Money. The only institution I've seen support this after doing a quick Google search for "HSA Microsoft Money" was the Bancorp Bank/ChamberSolutions/Freedom Services (all of which use Bancorp). At the moment, are there any other institutions out there besides Bancorp whose HSAs are set up to work with Money? I emailed Chase and BoA about this, but I have yet to hear back. Just wanted to know if anyone out there is in the same situation and what solution you found. |
