| Cal, thank you. This helped. the transfer outs were legitimate transfers to other accounts. I had to delete the sells and transfer outs that occurred after the stock split. I was then able to delete the stock split. As you suggested, I added a 1 for 1 split on the same date to prevent another download from adding the same erroneous split. Last, I re-added the sells and transfer out transactions. Unfortunately I had to update the quantity and price for some of the buy/sell transactions that occurred before the split. All is good now. Thanks again. "Cal Learner-- MVP" wrote: - quote - > In microsoft.public.money, buckneroct wrote: > > An erroneous stock split was entered automatically through the download > > function. Which ones do I need to change or remove? AddShares, that post-date the bad split. Maybe just delete the RemoveShares that immediately succeeds the date of the bogus split. If in doubt, you could Void, rather than Delete, some of those transactions. Regarding the TransferOut, where did that come from? Was that corresponding to you actually transferring shares to another account? If it is real, keep it. If you don't know where it came from .... well, I wouldn't know either. Keep an extra copy/backup of your file, in case you want to undo something. - quote - > I will need to

| An erroneous stock split was entered automatically through the download function. Now the number of shares is wrong. When I try to remove the stock split through the "update prices manually" link and deleting the 111 for 100 stock split, I get this message: "This stock split can't be deleted because that would cause the share balance to become negative (or positive if you have short sell activities) in one or more of your Investment Accounts, or because it would generate an invalid price or quantity. You can fix this error by deleting or changing one or more of your Sell, Remove Shares, Transfer Out (short), or Cover Short activities. If you need to change information (such as the date), first enter a new transaction with the correct information, then delete the original transaction." There are several Sell and Transfer Out activities before and after the stock split. Which ones do I need to change or remove? I will need to re-add them. Once fixed, how do I prevent the automatic download from entering this stock split again? Is there an easier way to remove this system generated stock split? Thanks. |
