No. After two years, it will continue to work with limitations, as,> Activated product and NOW find that there's an expiration date of > 10/20/2010. ?? > I do NOT use any online services. To open Money 2004, use the shortcut that points to the msmoney.exe> remove it when I dloaded the Plus trial but now it opens in the Plus version. in the Money 2004 folder You could reinstall Money 2004 to change the file associations. You could adjust the file associations directly for *.mny, *.mbf, *.ofx, *.qif. The method differs with the OS. - quote - > Thanks in advance . . . Frank |

| Beware that Money is heavily regionalised so that a US version cannot "import" a file from a different region. So US > US is OK. Note that you don't "import" your .mny file into the newer version. | Thanks for the confirmation and quick comeback. Might as well go for it and get the 'new Standard', altho I won't be using but the bare "essentials". As long as I know I can import my data files. | Correct. MEss cannot deal with data files from other editions/versions of Money. Deluxe is the new Standard. (Though it has the features like Cash Flow Forecast that Standard didn't have at the end.) Essentials is, well, MEss. | Dick - Is what your saying is that MEss would NOT be able to import my .MNY data from my older version (M04 in my case), if I d/load and install it.??? This sucks since I don't need the the Plus Deluxe or higher. All I want is the basic control over my savings and checking acccts and my credit cards. I don not need to see my acct from my "banks perspectives". All I ever needed was what was once called the 'Standard Edition'. Thanks in advance "Dick Watson" wrote: - quote - > The Money Essentials (MEss) model is that since all the data came directly > from the bank there is nothing to balance. | Thank you for explaining this to me! I was getting very frustrated. I think I am going to have to ditch ME and upgrade. Thanks again. | The Money Essentials (MEss) model is that since all the data came directly from the bank there is nothing to balance. You are seeing the account from the bank's perspective. The MEss model is that there is no other perpective. All it thinks you need--essential--is all of your bank web sites aggregated and with Micrsooft controlled ads and links instead of ads and links from your banks. If you want anything like what you experienced in M03, you need to ditch the MEss and get Money Plus Deluxe or higher. This would also read in any data file you have from M03--something MEss will NOT do. "HellKitten50" wrote: - quote - > I know this is a stupid question. | I know this is a stupid question. But, I can't figure out how to start using ME to balance my checkbook. I've downloaded my checking account from my bank to ME. Now, how do I start to balance the account? It shows everything as being cleared. On my old computer I used Money 2003! I can't figure how to get started. tia |
