Short version: A few weeks after you buy the stock, you have to delete theonline price for that day in the manual price update list, and edit the buy transaction in the investment register so that it creates a "Buy" entry in the manual price update list. If you try to do this too soon after the buy, it will get wiped out by the next online quotes update. Deleting the online price will wipe out the high-low-close, and the daily change. Back when I was dealing with just a 401k and an IRA, I used to go through the trouble of doing this once a month. Now that I have a brokerage account, it's just not worth it. -- Scott Tyler agent_scotty-at-hotmail-dot-com |
