Monthly lets you set day of the month as in the 18th. It does not let you
set day of the month as in the 3rd Thursday.

OK.

You say "entered" on the 20th. Do you mean the date in the register for
these transactions is the 20th?

Are you downloading transaction data? If this is, say, a biller auto
drafting or charging your account on the "18th" and you are subsequently
downloading transaction data, perhaps you are seeing the dwell before your
bank actually records the transaction the biller charged/drafted on the
18th?

Thank you, Dick for the quick response. I am using MS Money+ Deluxe and
your scenario of simply entering into the register is what I am trying
to accomplish. If Epay/Apay is set, I don't remember setting it as such.
That said, I looked again and the only only options I have are:

Only once Daily Weekly
Every other week Twice a month Every four weeks
Monthly Every other month Every three months
Every four months Twice a year Yearly

Neither the monthly nor the every four weeks gives the ability to set
the day on the month.

Now, I just opened the calendar and it is shows CORRECTLY that it is due
on the 18th in the next 12 months (I didn't go any further). Looking
back, it shows to have been entered on the 20th each month from
September back. The only thing that has changed is that I have a new
laptop and simply restored the file from the backup on the old desktop.
Perhaps my original question was premature but I do not understand the
previous months showing incorrectly.

Could well be. Microsoft thinks this is a feature that isn't requested
frequently…

I suspect he might be looking for the second Tuesday, or some such,
which Money does not do.

What version/edition are you using? If M05 or newer and Deluxe or higher, are
you using Advanced Bills? What frequency do you have the Bills set for?

When you say "automatic transaction" are we just talking about entry of a
scheduled bill into the register or are we talking about something more
complicated like an Epay/Apay?

In M+ Deluxe Advanced Bills, I have automatic bills enter into the
transaction register on the same day monthly all of the time. (No Epay/Apay
involved.) Complications can occur if you want this to happen on the 30th
every month, or, and here I speculate, the 28th of every month but you
scheduled it in a non-leap year February during the month of February.

Default Automated Transactions

Please forgive what is probably a simple question but I have not been
able to make an automatic transaction happen automatically on the same
day of the month. It is a bill (in fact two that that I have) that are
paid on a specific day of the monthly and while it does occur monthly,
it isn't exactly a monthly transaction as the default occurs. Thanks, in
advance, for the advice.
