| Just now I reread some of the Money Plus user guide. It says I should go to Tools/Internet Updates/Update Now. Since I have enabled the option "Receive account updates from MSN Money My Accounts", the "Update Now" step apparently should do it - but it does nothing for my web view at Moneycentral. So as far as I can tell, I've done the right things, but nothing syncs between desktop and web. What I did before was to add the account at the Moneycentral site, and gave it my TD Am password - this is apparently something that anyone can do and it is not connected to Money desktop app. I'm really lost! -- ----- Glenn Nelson in Santa Cruz "David A. | Hmmm, that's useful, but not my problem. In desperation I deleted my investment accounts from Moneycentral. Now I'm trying to figure out if Money (desktop app) is supposed to be able to download to Moneycentral, or if I should just go into Moneycentral and add the investment accounts and provide password to my TD Am accounts. The latter will work, but I've never been able to see number of shares and gain or cost basis in the Portfolio Manager within Moneycentral. I've seen hints that Money Plus trial version might not offer full syncronization, but the messages are so obtuse that it's like using software written in Romania. -- ----- Glenn Nelson in Santa Cruz "David A. | I had a similar tough time figuring out how to get my portfolios updated on Money Central. In my case, I couldn't even get the portfolios to show up under "View my portfolio" (even though they showed up under "Investing accounts" on the main page when I clicked on Investing in Money). Anyway, I finally figured out that I had to go to Investing | View my portfolio | Select View | Customize Current View. I just had to select the right accounts on the Accounts tab. But, the Portfolio Columns tab is probably what you're looking for. Once I had things showing correctly, I've found that Money and MoneyCentral sync almost immediately. Also, I assume you're signing into Money with your LiveID. David A. Lessnau "Glenn Nelson" wrote: - quote - > I thought I asked this before, but can't find, so please excuse if this is a > rerun. | I thought I asked this before, but can't find, so please excuse if this is a rerun. I've searched for prior messages from myself and don't find any. I have installed the latest Money Plus trial software on Windows XP SP3. I imported a Quicken file, and all looks OK. I now want to see my investments on the web (much as Quicken used to be able to do before their geniuses tore up their entire quicken.com portfolio system). Is there actually any syncronization between Money Plus on the desktop and Moneycentral, the web site? I can go to moneycentral and setup investment accounts and get my data from TD Ameritrade, but something is wrong here - there is one basic view, accessed from the "My Money" menu in the web site, that view shows me my holdings in a crude table that has no alternative views; the number of shares is shown. Then I click the link for "Portfolio Manager" and it shows me my investments in a much more versatile page, where columns can be customized with different views; unfortunately it does not show me the number of shares. Yes, I have the ActiveX controls for Portfolio Manager installed. I can't even recall how I got moneycentral configured as above. Did I download from Money Plus desktop app, or did I just go from moneycentral to my investment accounts at TD Ameritrade? It was all so tough to do that I no longer recall. I also had tech support involved for over a week and the guy was a total bozo. In the end he could only say, "you'll have to update your investments manually". Can anyone supply me with clear steps that (1) tell me how to get investment accounts on moneycentral that contain current data, and (2) tell me how to use Portfolio Manager so that the advanced views are available. Thanks so much. -- ----- Glenn Nelson in Santa Cruz |
