Even with the US versions Money uses the settings in Regional settings to
decide which currency to use.

If you are prepared for a lot of hard work see

Good luck!

Thanks. It's a bewildering array of flavors and vintages. I may just stick
with UK Money 2000 or 2001 if I can get my hands on copies thereof.
Converting dollars to pounds, shillings, and sixpence is a bit of a bother,
it's true, but simpler in the long run it appears.

M$ stopped selling Money Standard after 2006 and, at the same time, began
selling Money Essentials. This has caused a lot of confusion. Money
Standard was a basic functional Money Program without some of the frills
that were in Deluxe; while Money Essentials is a totally stripped down (and
in almost everyone's opinion, useless) program. The update route from Money
Standard 200x is Money Plus Deluxe. That's just the way it is.

Thank you. I didn't realize it's such a limited version. =:-(

This nicely rounds out my Money ordeal.

There's very few Essentials users here but it appears to be an almost
useless cut down version. You would be better off returning for refund and
buying Money plus.

Default Assigning categories in Money Essentials

I'm just getting started with Money Essentials after years of using an
earlier version of Money. I see from Help that I can't assign a category to
a transaction until AFTER I clear it. This is maddening as my previous
version of Money would virtually insist that I assign a category at the time
of entering the transaction. This seems to require me to assign it later
when I may very well have forgotten the purpose. Not as unlikely as it
seems, I assure you.

Q. How to assign at the time of entry, please?
