Then you could open Money by double-clicking the restore file. I suggest that you choose to *not* restore to the "default location." Instead click to Browse to your Documents/MyDocuments folder, and choose a name for the file, such as "melizabeth.mny". After things are working I suggest that you review your backup strategy. - quote - > Sorry for the delay... > Thanks again > ms > "Steven" <Steven[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:93FE4D5E-3B36-4537-AFC6-E8A1BCC62781[at]microsoft.com... > > What you can do to search for your most recent file is to go to the start > > menu and then click on search. | What you can do to search for your most recent file is to go to the start menu and then click on search. Once there select to search for all files and folders and in the file name type *.mny and to look in all of your hard drives. That way you can find your most recent file. If you have the file still it should appear, otherwise it may be saved in the default location of the My documents folder along with any recent backups that you may try to restore. Hope this helps. | It's merely where the file is stored. Open the folder the file is in. R-click on the file and select Properties. The Location is the Path. Same thing. But if you are on XP, it doesn't explain what your issue is. You mentioned having multiple Money files. Are some of them backup files? Most users only have one current data file. It gets updated as you enter data. There really is no mechanism--in Money that is--for it to roll back to a previous version. That's why I was wondering about the one mechanism in Vista that can make it appear this way. | Are you using Vista? Is your file stored somewhere besides your c:\users\[username]\...? There may well be no way to "retrieve" the latest file if you answered yes to both of the above questions. | My Money 2007 file was up-to-date at the beginning of the week. I went to look for it and could not find the updated version. How can I retrieve the latest file? There are several old Money files but they are not up-to-date. I think what happened was the the new file got updated by the old file. Hope this makes sense. Thanks for your help. |
