For coins, I would make each type of coin that is priced uniquely to
be a different investment in the investment account. Enter prices
manually.

There's an ETF called "SPDR Gold Trust" (ticker "GLD") that I
believe tracks the price of gold ... but I think it's price is
quoted at 1/10 the price of gold.

Create an investment account. Record a purchase or add of however many
oz you have. Call it gold. Change the value of the investment using
update prices. As you invest or divest more, use buy or sell.

There may be a symbol available for gold. If so, pricing updates would
be automatic.

Default Recording Gold Investments

Does anyone have any thoughts on how to best record investments in gold or
silver bullion coins? Does one create an asset account and just record each
coin individually?
