| You need the original disk. Copying across definitely won't work. If you go for a more modern version of Money I really do urge that you buy a physical CD rather than a download. -- Regards Bob Peel, Microsoft MVP - Money Hints/Tips http://support.microsoft.com/default...d=fh;EN-GB;mny UK Wishes/Suggestions mnyukwsh[at]microsoft.com "Mike Wilson" <mikew425[at]aol.com> wrote in message news:043c01c385ed$ef78f190$a101280a[at]phx.gbl... - quote - > Joe, thanks for your follow up. | Joe, thanks for your follow up. Only challenge is that Money came pre-installed with my older computer. I do not have an original disk to reinstall it. I did copy it- -even going as far as to try to change the properties on the copy (removing read only) but to no avail. Any ideas on how I could reinstall it to another machine without the original disk? I have killed about 4 hours today copying and messing around with this...arrgh! mike - quote - > -----Original Message----- > One question -- did you just "copy" Money or did you reinstall it? | One question -- did you just "copy" Money or did you reinstall it? I think it needs to be reinstalled. -- Joe Norton "Mike Wilson" <mikew425[at]aol.com> wrote in message news:00bc01c385d0$0864c760$a101280a[at]phx.gbl... - quote - > Just upgraded computers and now have Windows XP home > edition. | Just upgraded computers and now have Windows XP home edition. My old computer had Windows 98 and had Money 98 as well. I copied the Money 98 files to my new computer along with the Money program. Unfortunately, since loading the program on my new computer, I am unable to access my files. I keep getting a pop up window that asks me to backup the file. If I do or do not, I get the same results--I am unable to access my file, and I am asked to back up up the file. Any ideas what I can do, short of keeping my old computer on to balance my check book? Thanks in advance. Mike |
