Default Re: Set up a Certificate of Deposit / Forex account

Thank you.
I originally followed Money's instructions and set it up as an investment
account, but the FI treated it as "savings" so it was difficult to import the
data.
I changed it to a savings account and now it all works and makes sense.

Regarding my second question, if somebody has experience setting up Forex
accounts in Money, I would like to know how to do it.
Thank you

Default Re: Set up a Certificate of Deposit / Forex account

I have set up CD's as either investments within an investment account or as
individual savings accounts. It all has depended upon how the FI treats
them. When I did not have anything but manual entry as the FI had no
electronic information I set them up as investments in an investment
account. Otherwise it all depended upon how the FI will download the data.

I see no advantage to your second choice of keeping it all in the cash
portion of an investment account.

Default Set up a Certificate of Deposit / Forex account

What is the best way to set up a CD in Money?
-as an investment (in an investment account) with the interest "reinvested"
each month?
-as an investment account using only the cash portion and adding "interest"
each month?
-as a "savings account" under "banking"?

Also, how should a forex account be set up?

Thank you for any help you can provide
