If Help-> About in Money shows 17.0.*.1415, then that *.mny you triedto repair is corrupted. Restore the backup, and lose that 20 minutes of transactions. If that backup does not work, restore the next-oldest. When you restore, instead of restoring to the "default location", you can Browse to your Documents folder and select a new name for the restored file. |

I don't think I have read of anyone posting that symptom before.> looks like I will lose about 20 minutes of transactions...which could > be signfiicant in trying to recreate them....the timestamp on my > "real" file is 3:39...the time stamp on the nearest backup is 3:17. > This is the second time I've had a major issue with password handling > in Money...wish I knew why and how because the last time was a > nightmare. > Thanks for your input. You could try a File-> RepairMoneyFile-> StandardFileRepair level 2 on that *.mny file. To get to that menu, you could open any file first. Alternatively run salv.exe, that is located in the Money install folder, typically "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Money Plus\MNYCoreFiles" Running this command *with* the quotes would typically do it: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Money Plus\MNYCoreFiles\salv.exe" |

Fortunately Money Plus (2008), by default, keeps backups from your latest 4 closings. The filename incorporates the date and time of the backup. |

| On 9.1.08 I opened my Money 2008 file the way I always had...with my LiveId email address and password. Today, I tried to open the same file. When the login screen is presented it offers only the Password field for standard login. I don't know that password. On the File menu my options are: New Open Convert Quicken Restore How did Money "disassociate" my LiveId login from the file? Is there any way to "reset" the file back to using the LiveID form of login? Thanks, Ken |
