Try to remove the Passport on Money 2002 before continuing. See if the methods described in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/899631/ work for you. I don't know what is going to happen in any of the versions with that Passport in place on your Money 2002 file. Using Money 2004 as your intermediate may be worth a try. - quote - > Let us know what you find out. - quote - > Should I do something else? > I really appreciate all your help! |

| So I won't see that opt-out password screen if I convert an old file during 2006 install. Is that right? I absolutely do not want to use Passport/Live ID going forward. I'll be converting 2002 to 2006 Deluxe. My original plan was to load 2006 on a new computer and decline using Live ID. Then I was going to import/convert my old 2002 file later after installation was complete. I figured I would have to remove the Passport from my 2002 file before I imported it into 2006 to accomplish my goal. Should I do something else? I really appreciate all your help! -- Angela "Cal Learner-- MVP" wrote: - quote - > In microsoft.public.money, Angela wrote: > > > I'm just about to install Money 2006 Deluxe on a new laptop with XP Pro. | Hello, I'm just about to install Money 2006 Deluxe on a new laptop with XP Pro. (I know that tomorrow is the online services cutoff date for 2006.) I'm running 2002 on another computer. I do not want to use Passport/Live ID. During 2006 installation, I know I have to "JUST SAY NO" to Passport/Live ID and have the option to use a regular, local password. Is there anything else I have to remember to do during install to avoid Passport/Live ID? I figured I would install completely and import my old 2002 files as a separate deal. Is that a good way to go? My 2002 files still have Passport login--I'll be asking a question about that later after I've installed 2006 on my new laptop. I might be able to figure out everything from old postings. Thanks for your help! -- Angela |
