There are two kinds of "direct" from banks and other financial
institutions with Microsoft Money. The classic is the direct OFX
where the FI provides an OFX server with the data. The second is
called direct by some, but it is thru a third party. In that, Yodlee
screen-scrapes the web site of the FI and provides the statement
data. http://www.microsoft.com/money/bankonline.aspx

Money does not do its own DVD writing. That is done by the OS. So
whatever XP or Vista do is what Money does. I don't use a DVD for
that myself. I do each-time backups to the hard drive. Money keeps
more than one such backup (default is 4, but you can change that)
and incorporates the date/time as part of the filename. It also has
a scheduled backup. I use a USB flash drive for that.

There is a fully functional 60 day free trial. You would probably
want to try Deluxe. Essentials will not convert a Quicken file.

Default Question: Before you Buy

Hi All,

Concerning the new Microsoft Money version, may be coming from Quicken
Deluxe 2006.

Question: For the newest version of Microsoft Money, does it support
Direct Downloading from Banks?

Question: For Backing up your Data Files that you are working with, does
Microsoft Money support backing up to DVD Media that you can re-write to,
like DVD+RW Disks that are pre-formatted with Nero's InCD program, so you
can use the DVD Disks more than one time?
