| Thanks Cal. It works like a charm. Now all I have to do is write a macro to create the QIF file. I'd thought of creating a Buy transaction with a quantity of 0, but hadn't thought of using a Watch Account. I tried a file with Date, Security, and Price, which failed, and then with a few guesses at Action, all of which failed. | Also note that even though the Money Plus Deluxe will update your Canadian data file, it will lose all the Canadian features such as spelling, Canadian tax calculations, etc. Agree with Cal that you're probably better off sticking with your existing version. -- Peace, BobJ "Cal Learner-- MVP" <via_newsgroup[at]please.tnx> wrote in message news:mhf5e45m1g76rgnpqf5c0bram6mvcjg5fi[at]4ax.com... - quote - > In microsoft.public.money, lallen wrote: > > What if you're not in the US? Money Plus should work for you, but yet it is not sold in Canada.> do I upgrade to the Plus Deluxe version? Money Plus Essentials (which will not do the job for you) is. It's a strange situation. :-( You could download the Money Plus Deluxe trial, even in the face of the warning you can read during the process, but after two months that will need to be upgraded to the real thing. Some have successfully given a US address to enable the download, but that can come up as a problem when the address given mis-matches the address on the credit card. Also, what if there is a mail-in rebate? The pragmatic answer is that if you had a US friend .... I wish there were a more elegant answer. - quote - > "Cal Learner-- MVP" wrote: > > In microsoft.public.money, Alexm wrote: > > > > Have been getting warnings (from Microsoft) that I should upgrade > > > Money 2006 by 1 September 2006. The File-> Import-> DownloadedStatements is *not* being turned off with the online services expiration. My mistake. After expiration Money will not fetch direct OFX statements or statements that come in via a third party. But the ability to go to the FI's website and get OFX or QIF statements is not being stopped. - quote - > 2. download price quotes. > If you are in the US, you will still be able to upgrade to Money > Plus to be able to do those things again for another two years. |

I got a message from Microsoft past week which did not make it very clear what was about to happen if you did not upgrade. Other software companies make it very clear. Who the heck remembers what an install notice said several years ago? Alexm |
