It is possible to have more than one year installed at a time. Pay attention during install. I don't remember Money Plus suggesting it might uninstall earlier versions by default, but it is possible I checked to not uninstall without making note of it. I am not sure. They will need to work with different files, so might want to copy your earlier file to Something08.mny and convert that file. Each version will have its own MRU (most recently used) list to remember which file to open. The only caveats I can think of are the last-installed is set up with the file associations, so if you double-click a file in Windows Explorer, then Money Plus would try to open it. Similarly, when you download an OFX or QIF, the last installed gets fed the file. To feed the file to both, save the file to disk, and do File-> Import to both. Just clicking a link sends the file to the last-installed. You could manually adjust the associations, or could reinstall 2006 to reset the associations. But since Money 2006 is not going to process those files after expiration anyway, that becomes moot. If you were using Money 2007 and wanted to also have Money Plus installed, then that would be a consideration. Also note that if you uninstall Money Plus, you will get a warning that doing so will cause any earlier versions to stop working too. Heed that warning, unless you are prepared to reinstall the earlier version. And reinstalling the earlier version might be trickier than you think if there were updates involved.. |

| I have tried the free trial Money Plus Deluxe on one computer, and now want to purchase and download to another computer which has Money 06 Premium loaded. Should I uninstall Money 06 Premium before downloading Plus Deluxe (after making a backup of the data, of course)? Is it OK to have both versions installed at the same time, at least until I have time to make sure everything has transfered correctly? Thanks for your help. |
