Open that file. Do Help-> About, and write down your serial number. Go to http://support.microsoft.com/oas/def...px?gprid=12816 I don't know if they are going to be able to get you going or not. I don't understand that stuff myself. At worst, you could go to your old computer and File-> Export each of your accounts to loose QIF files. Save those files as a fall-back, but let's hope you don't need them. Then (only after you have saved the QIF files), see if you can remove the password from your file on the old computer. I don't know if it will require you to know your password to do that. I could test for that, but you will be right there anyway. |

I did have a password on the old computer for Money, but it was automatic, so I have no idea what it was. I purchased Money Plus this morning, and used a recent back-up file from the old computer to populate the money transactions. I was able to view it initially, but when I went back this evening, the trouble started. The password that I set this morning would not work, so I clicked on "can't remember password" and I again reset it. After resetting the second time, it now won't accept anything and it won't allow me to ask for a reset. If I click on sign me on without online services, it still won't let me sign on. I would like to have a password as I will have my Credit Card purchases downloaded. Is there someway that I can contact Microsoft and start this password business again? t b |

So did you have a Live ID on the Money 2006 file that you just converted? Somehow you want a Live ID on your file, I guess (a conventional password is another choice). But you had trouble signing in with your Live ID. So you decided that changing your password might help, but it didn't. Right? I am still confused, but that's ok. I don't know what your changing of password is going to do. If you sign in offline, you should be able to sign in with the old Live ID and password. I would consider removing that, and adding back your Live ID. Or re-convert your Money 2006 file. A copy of that file will have been saved as *.m15 (if I was right about your converting a Money 2006 file). Keep an extra copy of your *.m15 . That is a copy of your file from before conversion. You know what the password on that one is. |

And, I would like to have a password. c |

Select to not have a password. |

| This morning I downloaded a new version of Money Plus. As part of the download, I was asked to establish a Windows Live ID password, and use that to sign into Money. I set up a password, but it wouldn't sign into Money, so I clicked "can't remember password" and I set up a new one. Same thing happened, couldn't sign into Money---repeated one more time and it never worked. Now, Money will not send me an email to change the password probably because I have asked too often. Any suggestions? I have clicked the box in Money asking to just get into Money and not go to any internet services, and it still won't let me in. It seems that this option should not need a password, but it does require me to put one in. |
