Make sure that you have the view for Watch (pretend) accounts are> Standard File Repair option, but I wanted to investigate that further before > I hosed up anything. I'm not sure what file to repair or where to save it > etc..... deselected most of the time. The amounts from watch accounts add-in to the overall totals when the watch accounts are shown. So normally you probably want to keep ChangePortfolioView-> ShowWatchAccounts de-selected. To try to make a repaired version of your file, you want to start with your current *.mny file. File-> RepairMoneyFile-> StandardFileRepair level 2 Choose a different name for the repaired file, and see if that works better. |

| Just for clarification...I should have included in the below that it is the bottom line 'Cost Basis' total, eg, for the entire Portfolio, that is being added wrong...not the cost basis for the individual stock I just added..... | I use the above ver of Money and enter my own transactions into PortfolioManager. Before last week I had 7 mutual fund accounts there and all was fine. Then I bought some stock from an online broker. I set up the investment account on the Acounts list page and everything looks good...the account register lists proper prices, costs, commissions etc, and the cash transactions register is correct. At least everything makes sense to me... When I goto PortfolioMan, the stock account is listed as it should, but for some reason the 'Cost Basis' column is totaled wrong, which is messing up the rest of the Portfolio calcs. If I take the stock account out of the Portfolio view in Customizations, the calcs are correct, but if I include it in the view, the 'Cost Basis' column is REDUCED big time...by an amount far larger than the cost basis of the stock. In other words, adding the stock account to my portfolio is sending cost basis the wrong way...reducing the total by a large $ when it should be being increased by the basis of the stock purchase..no??? TIA for any input on this. Greatly appreciated... |
