| Screen scraping is inherently non-cooperative and unstable. Worse, the commercial issues drive the FI to want it to break and to not want it fixed. The up to Yodlee (who provides the data to Money, MSN online and Mint.com to name a few) to fix it. I spoke with NFCU and they are not inlined to help because they don't officially support how yodlee gets the data, so they could give a rip. Yodlee is the service that MS uses to pull the data from your account update msn.com (my money) that then supplies MS Money client. NFCU updated their online website to include "pending transactions" as well as the usual "posted transactions." It's nice, you can see what's causing the difference between "current balance" and "available balance." However, when they did this, they also changed how the posted transactions are formatted and this messed up the data collection method yodlee was using when they log into your account. Yodlee has to rewrite how the data is being pulled. Since they were made aware of the issue. Originally, money was reporting duplicate issues (one line was the payee and another deduction was reported for visa debit). I guess now they stopped pulling the data all together. Best bet is to call NFCU and complain, file a ticket with Yodlee.com (you need to open a free acount) and MS if you can. Yodlee is being slow, so defintely push if you can! |

| I am having the same issue, but with another Credit Union. I called Microsoft support and after a while the agent determined that the problem lies with a service called "Yodlee". As far as i understood Yodlee is what allows MS Money to access your accounts directly (as opposed to downloading ofx files manually). Somehow Yodlee had the wrong address for the credit union (the error code was -3003). I was promised that they would look into this further and get back to me within 2-3 days. I'll post any news to this board. | It appears this support service is not free for this version I have, accoording to the site. It was installed on this computer when I bought it. I previously had an upgraded money program when my laptop crashed and I bought a new desk top 2 years ago. I used the money program that came installed on the new desktop and went forward from there with my money backup. So I give up finding a fix for the old program problem now. I guess I will be money ahead, (no pun intended) to go ahead and purchase a new Money version and hope that solves my transaction downloads problem I am having with my NFCU accounts. | So you are telling me that with Money 2006 the automatic updates that work on the other banks now will stop working in September anyway as that service expires on Money 2006 then? So I SHOULD upgrade to a newer or more deluxe version ASAP or lose all automatic updates by next month anyway? Please make this clear for me...if I upgrade now to a newer or deluxe Money version, should that fix my problem with Navy Federal automatic updates/transaction downloads and continue to work for the other banks that currently work? Or is it that Yodlee server that I saw mentioned in another thread re: Navy Federal Credit Union accounts that is responsible for my problem and regardless, I should talk to Microsoft Support about the problem with Yodlee/Navy Federal? I have been to so many Microsoft help pages the last couple days, could you save me some time and give me a link to the correct Microsoft Support page or a phone number to talk to about this Yodlee/NFCU problem? The NFCU does not provide an OFX server themselves. Instead the transaction data is provided by a third party by accessing the NFCU web site on your behalf. If that system stops working for a financial institution, Microsoft support could communicate that. | Thanks for the quick reply...however, I have disabled the account and set it up again and merged duplicate accounts 3 times to no avail. I am using plain old Money 2006. I redid the NFCU credit card account as instructed and that did update when I set it up as instructed, but it does not show a password box in the update account list either. 3 other banks have the password box and automatically update with no problem. It is just the Navy Federal Credit Union accounts that ceased to work along about July 28th and I cannot get it to work no matter what I do. I did not think I would need to upgrade to a Money plus or 2007 if 3 banks are working fine. I checked the link you provided and make sure it is not something I already tried. It seems to be referring to error codes. I am not receiving any error codes. When I do a forced update, when it is done it says that the call connected at such and such a time and date, but no updates appear in my money register for that bank. Thanks again in advance for any other ideas. | Since late July, my automatic updates for Navy Federal Credit Union Checking and Savings account quit updating, automatic or forced. I tried every day and nothing happened. Meanwhile, other banks updates were working fine. NFCU would tell me that the call connected on a certain date and time, but I would not have any transactions updated in my register on money. I started investigating a couple days ago, found information about an update Money was doing mid July so followed all the instructions to reset accounts without the password box shown on that updates page. I have followed the instructions precisely 3 times, waiting more than 24 hours since the last one and a password box never appears and the transaction updates do not appear in my money register for this account. I have tried everything I can find or try and nothing works. I called Navy Federal and they put me with an internet support person and he had no idea what I was talking about. However, he suggested I change a setting in files. I did and it made no difference so I changed it back. Can anyone help me figure this out before I go crazy? Thanks!!! Lori |
