Much better way:
When in your Cash Transactions register, click on More Cash Tasks in the
left column and then select Balance an Account. Put in the date of your
last statement and the final amount of that statement and click Next. Then
check all of the transactions. You should get a zero discrepancy. Click
Next and everything should be marked reconciled.

In the View for the register, select to show only unreconciled
transactions. Sort by date, and go to the oldest transaction.
Hold down Cntl+Shift+M and let auto-repeat work thru the
transactions until none are left showing.

Default mark multiple items as reconciled

I have a brokerage account, the cash portion of which has many items that
should be marked as reconciled. The only way I know to do that is to right
click on each item individually. How can I mark them all at once?
