Default RE: money 2006 standard expiring 9/1/08 how upgrade

I had the same problem as you - that I could not seem to locate the proper
site for an upgrade. However, in the 8/19/08 note from "Russ527" he gave the
website for us to obtain the upgrade. He noted: "Here is a
link to the upgrade offer if you can't get to it through the popup.
http://www.microsoft.com/money/upgradeoffer.aspx
He also noted that Money Plus Deluxe is offered
for $19.99 ($39.99 with a $20 rebate). When I went in this morning to
download, it was offered to me for $29.99 with a $10 instant rebate, and I
opted to get it. I also got the CD for an additional $9.99 just because I
don't know how much longer this pc will hold on. The download was very
smooth and did not make me uninstall my previous version. It recognized I
had a previous and did everything necessary to upgrade my Microsoft Money
which I have grown to rely upon. You will need to disable your antivirus
program just until the download and install is set and make certain that you
allow pop-ups on your browser. Otherwise, it should be a breeze. Oh, one
more thing - I noticed that it will automatically include the one year long
additional download time frame for an additional $5.99, but I still prefer
the CD so I updated that for a "zero" quantity of the Year Long Download.
Good luck!

If that doesn't work, get a "button pusher" program to automatically
click the button for you. I recommend "Push The Freakin' Button"
(PTFB). A free version is available here:
http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/fil...ge,9/reviews.h
tml
or you can get the much-improved pay version here:

When you get the pop-up, try clicking the thing that you are not now
clicking once. That will probably take you to a web page offering to
sell Money Plus. Just don't buy.

Let us know how that works for you.

Does anyone know how to disable the upgrade reminder for online
services that continually pops-up when opening Money 2006? I do not
want to upgrade, just continue using the program without the features
that are expiring. Many Thanks

I was able to upgrade thanks to your posting the website since mine no longer
would take me to the upgrade site. This was very helpful to me. Thanks for
the insight.

I had the same issue and after checking my alternatives, I decided the best
option for me was to follow the link on the popup box (upgrade reminder) that
was coming up occasionally (not every time) as I opened Money 2006. It took
me to a Microsoft website where the upgrade to Money Plus Deluxe is offered
for $19.99 ($39.99 with a $20 rebate). You can purchase and download the
Money Plus file from the site. If you do this, I'd recommend burning a copy
of the file onto a CD in the event you ever need to reinstall. Here is a
link to the upgrade offer if you can't get to it through the popup.

Not quite. A mail-in rebate on a downloaded product. :-o

http://www.microsoft.com/money/Produ...tive_tab=order
reference the rebate.

Thanks for the quick reply. I appreciate your help. Direct me elsewhere if
my questions are not right for this space.

I looked at the site to compare Money Plus products (
http://www.microsoft.com/money/Produ...ve_tab=Compare
and saw that the price for the Premium product is shown at $49.99. When I
click on the download now button the shopping cast shows the price as $79.99.

Bait and switch from a company like MS?

How does one get the $49.99 price.

Yes, that is a purchase; there is not an upgrade pricing.

Make sure you keep a copy of the download so that you can reinstall
in the future. Burn it onto a CD in case your hard drive crashes.
Alternatively, you can buy the extended download option.

I looked at the 'upgrade' page and it looks like the upgrade is a purchase of
the new edition. I have no problem with that if I have to as the product
provides good service. I just want to make sure that is the correct approach
and there is not a discount somewhere as is usually the case when one
'upgrades' or updates a product.

On a related issue...
I have Money Plus Deluxe on disk. When I insert the disk, will the Money
Plus Deluxe uninstall Money 2006 Standard or should I uninstall Money 2006
Standard before installing Money Plus Deluxe?
Thank you,
Rich

Microsoft Money Plus Deluxe via online purchase.

Money 2006 expires Sept 1 for the downloads from the bank and for
quotes. It will continue to allow entries by hand.

You can wait until September to upgrade, and even then you could use
the Microsoft Money Plus Deluxe free trial for two more months
before upgrading.

I am not sure why you are entering investment transactions by hand.
Many brokers download into Money quite well.

Default money 2006 standard expiring 9/1/08 how upgrade

How do you upgrade to a new version? When I click on the link to upgrade it
does nothing. What version am I looking for? All I want to do is categorize
my transactions, do the online update from the bank, and I manually enter my
investment transactions. I am having trouble even finding money locally to
purchase. Is this product being discontinued?
