Default Re: Monthly Reports use closed accounts

RayS,
The only thing I've been able to do as far as customizing monthly reports is
to right click any of the charts (Monthly expenses compared, Your net worth,
Performance of your investments) and choose Zoom from the context menu. You
can also right click on any of the lists of dollar amounts and choose View
Transactions from there you can make a customizable report.

I noticed last year that a CD that I had redeemed was still include in the
Monthly reports Performance of your investments chart. It wasn't until one
full year since I had redeemed it that it was no longer included in the
chart.

Hope this helps,
-Kevin

Hello Ray, I guess you were right, I double checked, and I don't have
the "customize" option for monthly reports.
I think tech support is right.

You cannot customize the monthly reports

You are correct, RayS. The built-in MonthlyReport is not customizable.
You'll have to make do with the other reports.

Monthly Report is hard-coded, and it exhibits the failings you point
out. I suspect most people don't use it.

Thanks for your response. What you described is how the other reports work
but is not now Monthly Reports works (at least on my system and according to
Microsoft Tech Support). I have no "customize" option in Monthly Reports like
I do for all other reports. If you could double check if you really have this
option in Monthly Reports that would make sense but it would mean Microsoft
Tech Support was wrong and my system has a problem. I guess it is just hard
for me to believe what they told me that you have no option for Monthly
Reports and that the default is basically useless, so I'm doing a sanity
check with everyone just because this is so hard to believe.

whenever you are in a monthly report, in the left side you have the
option to customize the report.
go to this link, and then go to the account tab. here you can check
and unchek as many accounts as you want to see in the report.

Default Monthly Reports use closed accounts

I just upgraded to Money Plus Premium and was trying various things to make
sure it all worked. I can set up most reports to include the Accounts and
Investments I want but the Monthly Reports won't allow me to do that. When I
run them that report includes accounts I have closed years ago and
investments I have sold. The result is that the section that shows my best
and worst investments for the month is pretty useless because it lists mostly
things I have no interest in. In fact I suppost all the other information in
the monthly report is equally useless since it is working on the same data.

Tech Support says this is just the way the Monthly Reports works and there
is nothing you can do about it, but that is hard to believe because it makes
the report useless for everyone that has used Money for a year or so.. Is
this the way everyone elses Monthly Reports work?
