For me to get spending tracker to work I had to delete all bill
information AND redo my budget.

Just an update:
After spending several hours un-installing Money Plus, re-installing Money
2006, restoring one of my original 2006 backup files and repairing the file,
then re-installing Money Plus and converting my file, I finally came to a
solution to my problem with the help of Micrsoft Money Technical Support (and
Cal). The Spending Tracker is what was freezing up my Money file.
Everything seemed fine until I tried to view the spending tracker. The
sample Money file worked fine. Repairing my file did not work. I ended up
having to delete all of my bill data and re-enter it. Apparently, something
in my bill data became corrupted and would not work with the spending
tracker. I think the problem occured during the upgrade process, but after
reverting back to 2006 and going thru the convert process twice, I ended up
with the same problem, so perhaps there was a corruption problem hiding in my
2006 file and it finally came out with the Plus version.

Anyway, I think I'm up and running again after countless e-mails with Tech
Support and lost time on my part, but hopefully this will be the end of my
problems. I hope this may be of some help to someone else as they upgrade.

I don't know what you could do to speed that up. You might try a
File-> RepairMoneyFile-> QuickFileRepair, but I doubt it will help. It
won't hurt.

Thank you for the response.
My version is 17.0.120.1415. I followed your steps and that did help my
problem. I isolated the fault to the Spending Tracker Module, so I left that
off the homepage for now.

So, I do I fix this problem with the Spending Tracker Module so I can use it
(it is one that I use often)?

I would first go to Tools-> Settings-> ProgramSettings and set the
(GeneralDisplayStartMoneyWithThisPageOpen:Accoun tList

That should speed up your starting, since it sounds as if the
"home" page is probably associated with the slowness.

In Help-> About, check that your version is 17.0.120.1415 and not
17.0.120.727. Since you just downloaded, I would expect you to have
the 17.0.120.1415. If not, post back with that.

Then Tools-> Settings-> HomePageDisplayOptions and Remove the
BillsAndDeposits and SpendingTracker modules. If you still have a
problem when you go to the "home" page, remove all modules. If the
problem goes away, you can add things back until the crash does not
happen. Add back in the other things you want on the home page.

Also see
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/926229/en-us if that does not take
care of the problem.

Default Money Plus "not responding"

OK, so I upgraded my Money 2006 to Money Plus Deluxe, and now when I open
Money, it freezes while the CPU hangs at 100% while showing that Money is
"not responding". If I leave it alone for about 5 min, Money will eventually
open, but will still freeze and not respond intermittently (usually when
trying to go back to the home page). Opening the sample Money file seems to
work OK. I have tried restoring a backup file, as well as attempting to
repair the existing file, but both have netted no results. It sems to me
there is a problem with my particular money file, but I have had no problems
until trying to open Money Plus Deluxe for the first time. I am running XP.
Any ideas??
