You might want to try out Insights, which will optionally watch for
and display upcoming Bills, spending, and cash flow info. It is done
using a single tray icon. It is completely optional and not pushy.

Be sure to burn it to a disk or take other steps to preserve it, along
with the registration information. I saved my acknowledgement email as a
text file in the same folder as the install file, before burning both to
a DVD. I also used LightScribe to burn the registration number into the
disk label.

Money Plus will not try to download to a closed account.
You can have background banking (no-click fetching of new
transactions) without having LiveID on the file.
There is a CombineWith operation for cases where you want to combine
two investments that may have come with the real CUSIP from one FI
and an alternate CUSIP-like number from the other FI.
You can change a mutual fund to a stock, vice versa, and some other
changes. Spinoff is working. You can backup to USB flash drives
larger than 2GB. There is the ability to point a transaction at a
file.

And some more even less obvious.

Your downloaded copy had the update already 'slipstreamed'.

Just bought, downloaded and upgraded to Money Plus Deluxe.

The process went smoothly. The new software looks EXACTLY like Money
2006, which suits me just fine. I am not trying out anything new at
this stage, as long as the on-line stuff works (and it seems to).

The version shown is

17.0.120.1415

It did not install any software updates to Money+ as far as I could tell.

Thanks. Good to know.

Which month (in the past) were the new versions released? I think it
was in the Sept-October time frame (I used to upgrade every year except
in 2007).

The only thing that is true right now, is that this year there will be
no new Money program.
Microsoft will stay with Money plus for another year, before releasing
a new version

Anyone who's beta testing would be under a non-disclosure agreement.

I don't know anyone who's beta testing.

Is there a new version coming soon? Any beta testers out there doing
beta testing?

Be sure that your Money and backup files are moved to a spot that
you will have full privileges to, such as within the user's
Documents folder. If they are in ProgramFiles, Vista will create
an impermanent copy of the file for the user to use, unless the
user explicitly right-clicks at launch and choose
RunAsAdministrator that time.

Install Money from the Money Plus by browsing to the setup file.
Right-click that file, and choose RunAsAdministrator.

After install, right-click the Money icon and choose
RunAsAdministrator to let potential updates happen. Reboot the
computer. You should not have to run as Administrator normally.

Also change your backup path from
"C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\" to
"C:\Users\username\Documents\"

I see it on sale for $50 at many places. Is the $20 rebate coupon in
the box?

Isn't this version due for an update right about now?

If so, I hope it happens in the next 30 days.. because I have to have
the on-line features. I do all my payments, etc online.

I'm using XP, at least for now.

Where can I find out about the rules for Vista? Just in Case ...

You can do either, but if you go with the trial first, you don't
enter the key into the trial to upgrade. You have a separate
download for the purchased version, and you will need to install
that itself.

I am in the same position. It looks like the online purchase at $49.99
with a $20.00 rebate is the best bargain. Does anyone know of anything
better?

Should I convert with the trial version and then register or simply buy
the real version and upgrade? I have Windows XP, SP-2.

XP or Vista? If Vista you need to follow some specific rules about where you
keep your files and some hocus-pocus the first time you run Money under
Vista. If XP no special pbms.

Default Money 2006 -> Plus Deluxe: Any gotchas?

I have to upgrade from M2006 because the on-line features will stop
working in 30 days.

Are there anything that I should watch out for when upgrading to Money
Plus Deluxe?

I am connecting directly to the banks and brokerages to download the
data. I am not using any passwords or MSN Money online.

Thanks.
