If that was recent, you could try restoring a suitable backup. Money
2007 keeps 4 by default, tho you can change that number. If you have
a bunch of extra space on that big hard drive, ....

Something you could try if you have *deleted* payees, is to do an
Archive with a date preceding any transaction (maybe 1/1/1970). This
may actually purge deleted Payees from the file.

Note that I don't suggest Archive to make your file significantly
smaller or faster. Doing that generally does not meet your hopes or
expectations.

Default Rebuilding the payee list?

Somewhere along the way Money 2007 rebuilt the payee list - that is
all the payees that I had deleted from the payee list have returned.

Since over the years I had spent a lot of time getting rid of old
payees (especially after moving from the east coast to the west
coast), I'm not too happy with having all this stuff reappear. I know
the names are always there, but it seemed easier to match new
transactions if all those old names were not being considered.

Does anyone have any idea what might have caused this? I certainly
don't want to spend time to do this again if its just going to get
wiped out.

Thanks
