If you bought Money 2006 at retail, the license permits you to> laptop want to transfer license. laptop running vista home premium. I expect > I'll need a vista compatible version for the laptop. how do I get it? install it on the desktop and the laptop. If you bought the disk, just install. Below I have added some Vista considerations. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/889930/ should have some info. If you can download the trial, note where it says ================================================== If you have to reinstall Money 2006 by using the following MSN Web site, you must change the date [on your computer] to 12/31/2006: https://billing.msn.com ================================================== ============= So then you can create an empty file and put the same LiveID that you used when you bought Money. Money should then convert from the Trial to the regular version. ===============Vista considerations============================== Be sure that your Money and backup files are moved to a spot that you will have full privileges to, such as Documents/MyDocuments. If they are in a place like ProgramFiles, Vista will create an impermanent copy of the file for the user to use, unless the user explicitly right-clicks at launch and choose RunAsAdministrator that time. Right-click the Money icon and choose RunAsAdministrator to let updates happen. Then reboot the computer. Also change your backup path from "C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\" to "C:\Users\username\Documents\" |
