| Hi, have a similar problem with the DeLux Portfolio: Since some days, from September 2008 the calculation in the Gain/Loss is not accurate: It is adding about 10% to the correct figure. No settings where changed!!! I am using Win Vista Business since a year and everything was OK untill some days ago. In the "Performance View" of the Portfolio, the columns "% Gain" and "Avarage Cost" are not displaying the correct figures. This affects the whole portfolios values and Gain/Loss calculations rendering the complete software useless. I have US stocks in the Portfolios ans the Portfolios are denominated in US$; When I insert any new transaction (buy A Stock) it displays an exchange dialog box for conversion of £ into $; I ignored this for all these months, just clicked OK on it and had no problem untill some days ago. I used the Delux Portfolio for several years without problems and I re-installed the latest version after this problem started. This appears to be the result of the wrong amount displayed in the column "Avarage Cost" that price have been diminished by about 10% for all the stocks and for all the portfolios. The closed positions of the Portfolios are not affected by this new calculation and are all OK. If I delete any wrong transaction and re-enter into the Portfolio the display of the Avarage Cost and % Gain is correct, but this is a long way and the problem may come back again. Does anyone experiance something so devastating and have any suggestion? Thanks to all. lonehunter69 "onyx_61" wrote: - quote - > No, no dividents payed. > I am using 2 PCs one using the Portfolio Manager essentials where > calcualtions are correct , and the other using the Deluxe Protfolio where I > have worn Cost basis. > I noticed that each investment can have an exchange rate. | No, no dividents payed. I am using 2 PCs one using the Portfolio Manager essentials where calcualtions are correct , and the other using the Deluxe Protfolio where I have worn Cost basis. I noticed that each investment can have an exchange rate. Though I put the protfolio as US $, I am expecting that Cosbasis are expressed in US $ too, setting the exchange rate in the investment equal 1. Only if I put exchange rate tosomething like 1.5898 it will display the right Cost basis display. But still all values should be displayed in US $, since this is what I set in the portfoli settings. | Dear all, I have switched from Classical Protfolio to Deluxe Portfolio on MSN Money, and found out that since this change all Cost Basis values are wrong and much higher than the initial costs. For example a share bought at 88,16 ( Quantity 100) and Commission 0.0 displays a Cost basis as 8905,93 . All investments in the Portfolio have only one 'buy' transaction. I tried to play with the Commission value, but never could get the right Cost Basis Value, which remains much higher. In Classical Portfolio this problem did not occurred. Thanks in advance for your help |
