I keep track of my real estate investment as asset account along with a
liability account (for the mortgage). Then in the planner I put in the
expenses and income and sale information. This may not be exactly what you
want put it may be close. The really better way to keep track is to create
an Excel spreadsheet which is able to keep very detailed information and can
be customized for your exact needs.

The account I'm speaking of is not a bank account on its own, but just an
"account" within money for accounting and tracking purposes.
