Assuming that that really means the file was created by a US localized
version and not that it's just the wrong EULA, and assuming you can obtain a
newer US version of Money, this *should* be a possible upgrade, barring
issues like the file is already corrupted somehow. But IF you want to go to
M06 or greater, THEN you will have to use one trial version for an
intermediate upgrade. See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/913108/en-us for
more details.

Good luck.

I've found in EULA it says for use in US & Canada only. I believe it is for
the US market then. Isn't there any other way to upgrade files without
numerous trial versions? What would happen if I install MS Money 2005 above
the MS Money 99?

Oh, and I should add, old trial versions are not "supposed to be" available
except in several very isolated cases and there may have not been trial
versions for all localized versions and not all versions are available in
all localizations. Indeed there are not anywhere near as many localizations
now as there once were.

There also is no easy way to tell--since none of us users have the decoder
ring, presumably Microsoft does--what localization a given copy is. Spelling
of Check vs. Cheque has been used to tell US from UK. I am not aware of more
general methods.

You may have an impossible task.

When you "didn't have luck with it" did you have an error message? Did the
message include the word "incompatible"?

Default Money 99 - few questions

Hi,
I've got a task to migrate old MS Money data to a newer version (99 to
2005). Money is Microsoft Money 99 version 7.0 Standard Edition. I've tried
to upgrade the files, but didn't have luck with it (used MS Money 2001
trial).
I've read in the forums that I have to have the same market version in order
the version upgrade will suceed. How can I determine weather it's
International or US or Canadian or whichever edition? How can I find the
trial in the same edition? (can I get those trials officialy somewhere) Is
there easier way to solve this problem?
Thank you in advance,

small
