| Correct. A prior $200 sell of 10 shares for $20 per will be adjusted by a future 2 for 1 split to "look like" a $200 sell of 20 shares for $10 each. It will tag these adjusted entries with an "s" to indicate it is an amount adjusted for a subsequent split. It would be "nice" maybe to see the data differently, but it's not how Money works. | Yes it does do exactly what you said. However I would think that to adjust the fractions and other things it would create a new transaction to either sell or buy to correct the numbers. I do not expect it to go back and change my history because of this. So I assume this is normal and I should learn to live with it? | I think you will find that it splits EVERYTHING in the history for that investment so that all of the buy/sell prices are adjusted to the most recent split ratio. Did you end up with MORE shares post-split than you should have? I'm thinking not since I'm thinking that the sells you made in May are still in there--just they've been adjusted for both price and quantity to reflect post-split share values. If they didn't do it this way, performance reporting would be much more difficult to perform. | Hi, I bought a stock back in January and in May I sold a portion of those stocks. Later that same month, the stock was split. When I enter the split in Money 2005, it splits the stock based on the number that I bought back in January. How can I make it split only the stock that I have on hand? Thanks, |
