That's about as small as Money files get. Sample.mny is 7.5 MB, and it
only has a few transactions.

still be there.

You might get something back by
File-> RepairMoneyFile-> QuickFileRepair but maybe not right away.

Another thought...

In my older version of money, when clicking on existing money desktop icon,
it opens to last file closed.

Do not know how your moneyplus handles having more than one money file.

You may want to put a shortcut to each of your money files on the desktop.

To put a shortcut on desktop, right click money file, select Send To, on
expanding menu choose Desktop (create shortcut).

This way you or your wife can choose their desktop shortcut money icon to
open proper file.

This is probably what you meant: delete the *accounts* that are
yours in your wife's file. Yes, you can do that.

Re: Can i transfer her account information into the new file ?

See the following Export/Import info from Help.

Ken

You can export account information from Money to use in other software
programs. When you export, you do not remove the account from your current
file, you simply make a copy of it to use elsewhere.

1. On the File menu, click Export.

2. Choose a QIF format for your exported account:

Loose QIF. The full names of Money categories and other names will be
exported, and classifications 1 and 2 will be exported. Applications other
than Money may not be able to read this format.

Strict QIF. Only the first 15 characters of category names and other names
will be exported, and only classification 1 will be exported. This format is
compatible with all applications that read QIF files.

3. Click OK.

4. In the Save in box, click the destination directory for the exported
account.

5. In the File name box, type a name for the file, and then click OK.

It's a good idea to match each exported file with its corresponding account
name in your Money file (for example, "Household Checking.qif").

6. Choose whether you're exporting a regular or investment account, and then
click OK.

7. Click the account you want to export, and then click Continue.

You can only export a single account from your Money file at a time.

8. Money will display a message when the export is complete. Click OK.

Important When you export an account, some information is not included, such
as abbreviations, comments, and Lifetime Planner information.

Importing files into Money is a convenient way to integrate data. However,
if the file you're importing contains information already contained in the
current Money file, the information will be duplicated.

1. On the File menu, click Import.

2. Click the files you want, and then click Import.

3. Select the Money account that will receive the imported data, and then
follow the instructions on the screen.

Money will display a message when the import is complete.

Note For information on how to export a QIF file from another program,
consult the program's instructions.

Have you thought about using separate Files?

They can be password protected.

The following from Money Help.......

If you're working with unrelated accounts, such as one for your personal
finances and one for a business, you probably want to keep the information
for each in separate Money files. Money doesn't share information among
files. If you use more than one file, the reports and charts will reflect
the information only for the file that is currently open. If you regularly
transfer funds between two files, or think that you might, you should
consider using just one file.

1. On the File menu, point to New, and then click New File.

2. In the Save in box, click the directory where you want to save the new
file.

3. In the File name box, type a name for the new file.

Money adds the file name extension .mny automatically.

4. Click OK.

Just a thought.....

Yes. You create a separate data file, using File > New > New File. You'll
wind up with "My Money.mny" and "Her Money.mny". Be sure to put both files
in your My Documents trees to avoid privilege issues.
