Yesterday it was working fine. Today it stopped working again. This is
getting ridiculous.

Thanks to all for the suggestions.

I don't know why, but in the last couple days, the markers have reappeared,
then re-disappeared. Now they are showing again. I know of nothing I did to
cause it. At least it's working at present.

There are two levels of charting available in Money: Clicking the "Chart"
icon for a security (if available) will bring up one of the MSN Money charts
(Standard or Deluxe, depending on OS, Money version/SP level, and whether or
not the Investment Toolbox is installed). Unless a user is tracking their
portfolio on MSN Money, I wouldn't expect buy/sell events to be marked in
these charts.

Doubleclicking an investment, or rightclicking it and selecting "Price
History", will bring up a chart directly in Money based on the data
downloaded or manually entered in Money.

Since Money 2004 or so, "Mark Events" has been turned off by default for
price histories from the portfolio (but not for the Reports section). It
can be turned back on by rightclicking anywhere in the chart and selecting
"Zoom", and then clicking on "Customize" from the links that now appear on
the left margin. "Mark Events" can now be turned back on. The time period
and chart type (Report, Line, High-Low-Close) can also be changed.

As online price updates (if available for the same date) will overwrite
manually entered buys and sells, the event markers will still tend to
disappear.

I have seen this happen before and it might have a simple solution.
The markers will disappear if you do not have the latest advanced
portfolio feature downloaded from MSN Money. Go to charts within
Money and see if you can find somewhere on or around the chart area a
link for download advanced portfolio. Alternatively, try going to
msnmoney.com and then investing and portfolio. If you don't have the
advanced portfolio, it will offer it as a download.

Thanks for the help. What a huge hassle! And after all that trouble, it
still doesn't work.

What a shame too, because that was a very useful feature. I'm always
surprised that after all these years, bugs remain.

Although it's possible to turn this off (it's turned off by default in the
portfolio for the last several versions), it's more likely that an online
update overwrote the data it depends on.

Load up a price history report (from reports, not the portfolio), customize
it to make sure "Mark Events" is checked, and that it covers dates back to
2005/2006 (there's currently not a lot of online update data this far back),
go back to the portfolio, and do a manual price update for any security that
still shows the markers. You'll see the price on those days listed with an
event (buy, sell, etc).

These prices/events can and often are overwritten by online updates. Once
one of these prices changes from buy/sell/etc to "Online", the marker for
that event will disappear.

Although it's possible to get the markers back by deleting the "Online"
price, and then editing the trade in the register to re-create the event
price, it's probably not worth the effort, as you'll probably have to do
this for every trade for every security traded in the last 2-4 weeks. I
used to go through this trouble for my 401ks and IRA, as there were only 1-4
trades per security per month, but now that I have an online brokerage
account and trade much more often, it's just not worth it.

It would be nice if MS could find a way to fix this, as it's nice to be able
to look at a chart and see how many markers are on the tops/bottoms of the
peaks, how many markers are above/below the current price, etc.

Default Graphs have stopped displaying buy and sell points

The graphs withing Money Plus used to have markers showing my buy and sell
points, but those markers no longer appear. Did I accidentally turn off that
feature somehow?
