| If you can get into a report to customize it and changing the date resolves it, that may indicate that the problem is due to one or more transactions. To help identify what they are you could try customizing the report to first narrow it down to a specific account that exhibits the problem and then work with the date range to narrow it down to transactions with a specific date range. -Mark "Fred" <Fred[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:31B51DCD-4617-40BD-8EA5-F63314F3996F[at]microsoft.com... - quote - > Thanks Scott, > The back and forward function doesn't work, but HOWEVER you helped me find > a > solution: click on "customize" (for customizing the report), then change > the > date for example, click Apply and the report appears. | Thanks Scott, The back and forward function doesn't work, but HOWEVER you helped me find a solution: click on "customize" (for customizing the report), then change the date for example, click Apply and the report appears. If needed, I put back the original date, Apply and then OK. STILL, this is not perfect and i'll try the solution of export / import mentionned by Cal. If it works, then i'll avoid these annoyances... | Thanks Mark, after checking all accounts, including closed ones, there was no "unaccepted" transactions. My reports used to hang like that quite frequently in Money 2004, and still do from time to time in Money Plus. Hitting "Back" and "Forward" usually loads the report for me on the first try. Sometimes I have to do that 2 or 3 times. None of the file repair options ever made things any better for me. It's just one of those annoyances that I've had to live with. As for the home page, a fair number of users had posted about problems with it in Money Plus. The advice I'd seen given here in the past had been to remove everything from the Home page, add modules back in one at a time, and live without any module that causes a hang. Those complaints have gone down over time, so it's possible some of those problems were fixed with the service pack that Money downloaded a few months back. -- Scott Tyler agent_scotty-at-hotmail-dot-com |

| It could be due to a whole lot of 'unaccepted' transactions in one of your accounts (for example in a closed account that is still getting transactions downloaded into it). Reference: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/942485/en-us Note: If Money Plus is already updated to the 1415 version, then you may need to try Method 4 -Mark "Cal Learner-- MVP" <via_newsgroup[at]please.tnx> wrote in message news:1qtv44566a1i7ic1mi382m7e6vemaraks8[at]4ax.com... - quote - > In microsoft.public.money, Fred wrote: > > Thanks, but still does not work. > > Favorites reports were removed, only monthly reports can be produced, all > > other reports cannot (whether in simplified or advanced options). > I am sorry to hear that the level 1 repair did not solve the > problem. I am sorry to hear that the level 1 repair did not solve the> Favorites reports were removed, only monthly reports can be produced, all > other reports cannot (whether in simplified or advanced options). problem. You could try level 2 again. Otherwise, you might want to consider trying QIF export+import. If you want to do the QIF export/import, I would follow the steps in http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;178830 except in the first step 4, I would suggest this: start the name of the QIF file for the investment accounts with an underscore (_), and start the name of QIF files for the cash accounts associated with the investments with a letter. Thus you might have _BrownInvestment.qif and BrownInvestmentCash.qif. This would cause the investment account to be processed prior to the associated cash account. When the BrownInvestment got created, you would specify that you want to track the cash transactions. Then specify that the cash transactions account for BrownInvestment was where the BrownInvestmentCash.qif transactions get sent. Then File-> Import ALL AT ONCE to the new file using Ctrl+<click> to select files. Specify "New or Recovered" account when asked. Of course you will use a different filename for the new file, and you will have both versions to choose from when done. I would also set up the backups to make sure they are using different names. Yes, it is imperfect and there are limitations. If you try this, you still have the option of keeping your existing file going... as long as you use unique names. - quote - > Thansk for your help > "Cal Learner-- MVP" wrote: > > In microsoft.public.money, Fred wrote: > > > > My main problem: I cannot view my saved reports anymore; the message > > > Loading keeps being displayed. > > > > > I have Money Plus Deluxe trial version (since 9 June 2008, last week). > > > My Money file was created with earlier versions (since 2003) and lately > > > upgraded from Money 2007. > > > > > I tried repairing the file, all possibilities including removing all bills. > > > Nothing changed, the problem remains. | My main problem: I cannot view my saved reports anymore; the message “Loading” keeps being displayed. I have Money Plus Deluxe – trial version (since 9 June 2008, last week). My Money file was created with earlier versions (since 2003) and lately upgraded from Money 2007. I tried repairing the file, all possibilities including removing all bills. Nothing changed, the problem remains. The log file gave: “No broken records in the original file”. In addition, on the front page, spending by category and Cash flow forecast hangs as well in most of the cases (surprisingly, it works from time to time…). How can i repair the file? Thanks |
