| The answer is that MONEY will not accept a cost basis of zero so I entered ..00001 and now all the reporting is correct. I think it is because of the way MONEY calculates percentages in the Portfolio. I had to experiment a lot before I figured this out. It sure would have been nice if MONEY explained this somewhere in the program!! | Investment activities for this stock does show it as an add shares at zero basis. When I vested in this option, I had to choose "exercise and sell" as there is no transfer option for stock options, so I did that at both zero cost and zero SP to remove the shares from the option account. I then "added shares" at zero cost to the broker account where they were sent to. In all cases MONEY shows this lot as a zero cost except when it calculates the gain/loss. It then arbitrarily adds a cost basis. "Cal Learner-- MVP" wrote: - quote - > In microsoft.public.money, cg wrote: > > I am using the most current Money Plus Business & Home. Also, was there a transfer from one account to the other? That can make for some odd reporting. |

| I am using the most current Money Plus Business & Home. It shows the loss in the Capital Gains Report. | I entered the stock cost of zero when purchased over a year ago. I just sold the stock and when I did I specified the lot for sale. Money used the correct lot and even showed the correct cost basis of zero but when it performed the calculation, it came up with a totally different cost and I ended up with a loss instead of a gain. Anyone know how to correct this> > |
