I assumed as much. I was wondering if anyone knew why?

Somehow must make the bank(s) happy. Money just takes whatever crap the pass
and passes it on to you. I don't see them on Chase's web site, though. (The
names are a lot more readable too.)

Default Purpose of payee 3 character codes?

This is just a curiousity question. This is been going on for years but
I've never gotten around to asking about it.

When I do downloads from Chase Visa, often the payee name starts with a
three character code and an asteric. Examples:

APC*ALLPOSTERS.COM
FTD*FTD.COM/1-800-SEND
GRC*Natural Adva3 OF 3
IVP*CLEVER CLASP

I generally rename them which means Money has tons of payee name
associations to track.

Anyone know what the purpose of the xyz* at the beginning of each payee is
for?

Bruce.
