| Okay - for anyone out there interested, it was as simple as uninstalling and reinstalling Money. Kooky. | I actually do have a tablet that I use for graphic design work, but it's never interfered before. This is bizarre behavior. I think I'll reinstall money and see what that does. I really think the budget fiasco of last week really mussed things up. I wish I could start with a "clean" money file that had only my accounts. I'd have no problem setting up my budget and bills from scratch... | Double hmmm. This hasn't been reported here previously that I can recall. Do you have any keyboard/mouse helper gadgets installed? This might be one for a support case directly with Microsoft. | Thanks for the tips. Uninstalled IE8, and while it fixed another error I was getting when closing money, it did not fix the "edit series" problem. I tried editing other bill series, but the "ok" button wouldn't work with them either. I tried adding a new paycheck, but the "ok" button still wouldn't work. Hmm... | IE8 beta is known to have issues with Money. Whether your edit one of a series issue is IE8 beta or not is tough to say. I would suspect you can edit occurrences of other bills. Ergo I would expect this issue isn't IE8 beta. Enter a paycheck in a register. Go to that register entry. R-click, add to bills and deposits--but give it some way to distinguish this new series from the original one. Like unique memo or start date. See if you can edit the sires you just added. If so, delete the original series. If not, back to the drawing board. (Note that this may have bad joojoo with an existing Advanced Budget. Can't say for sure. Some people report deleting series the AB knows about is a Bad Thing.) | I'm trying to update my paycheck, but after I make all my changes on the "edit series" page and hitting "OK," it just sits there. If I hit "cancel" or try to navigate away, it warns that my changes won't be saved. Sure enough, they're not saved. I restarted money, and then both quick repaired and standard repaired my money file. Nothing worked. There's also a "delete bill data" option, but I didn't want to mess anything up, so I haven't tried it yet. The only other thing I may have screwed up is that I was trying to look at the advanced budget the other day. After backing up my S&S budget and going to the advanced budget, it took me several restarts and attempts to restore my S&S budget - everything was flaky. It would ask to switch back to the S&S and I'd say yes, but then hitting "restore" when looking at budget backups would do nothing (similar to the OK button problem on the edit bill series page). I don't know how I eventually restored my budget, but it was scary. I'm sure this has no bearing on the bill series problem above, but I wanted to mention it. The real problem is probably just that I'm using Vista Ultimate 64x and the IE 8 beta. Thanks for any help anyone can provide! I'd like to edit my paycheck!!! |
