| I bought Money Plus Deluxe and all seems to be well for the moment regarding the shutdown process. Money Essentials is crap. Hopefully someone might find this before wasting their money. |

| I wouldn't count on the Money Frills solving the graphics problem. And not every app uses the graphics hardware the same way. I have seen numerous instances of one-offs of an app having bad karma with specific graphics drivers. Also, sometimes--Nvidia--running the latest graphics drives can be worse than running an older version. Good luck. | Thanks. I will have to pay more $$ I guess. Re the graphics, everything is up to date. I have run a LOT of software on this computer and don't remember a similar problem. Oh well, we'll see what happens with Money "Frills" as you call it. Tnx again. | Money Essentials (MEss) has been so critically de-featured that few posters here will even play with it to support other users, much less use it from day to day. The best many of us can give you is educated guesses. Re. will not quit/gobbles CPU, if here are any options for turning off backup on exit, I'd try those. Sometimes real Money runs off in the weeds when backing up on exit. It's done so for at least two versions now and the Money team hasn't seen fit to fix it. One difference that may be relevant--when Money Frills runs off in the weeds on exit, it uses no CPU. As to the screen corruption issue, this REEKS of a graphics card driver problem. Have you checked for graphics driver updates? "BTW-nc" wrote: - quote - > Win XP SP3, everything installed after a system recovery disk. Athlon dual > core, 4GB ram. | Win XP SP3, everything installed after a system recovery disk. Athlon dual core, 4GB ram. Downloaded Money Essentials and installed it. I put two transactions in Money a few minutes ago, then quit the app. Now the process is still running and gobbling up 50% of my CPU cycles and I cannot re-start it of course because the system thinks it is already running. Second problem: Money often times picks up screen artifacts from other applications that happen to be on the desktop at the same time. Window pollution is the best way I can describe it. I am SORELY disappointed in this software thus far. I should have stuck with Money 2002. |
