| I have this exact problem with no help from support. I will be initiating a charge back with my credit card company today. It is absolutely pathetic that their system is so screwed up that paying customers can't use the products they purchase, but pirates can. Screw M$. I won't be fooled again. | It looks like a trial reminder to me, it only shows 2 buttons, one says "Purchase" and the other "Remind me later". I recall, every time I installed money, the license agreement text says on top "TRAIL VERSION". I've followed the support docs procedure to manual activate (tools -> online services menu item) and according to the docs, it should allow me to enter my activation number, instead I get the same screen with 2 buttons, purchase and reminder me later Frustrating, now I've replies from ms tech support, they say to contact the online store, and I've another reply from the online store, to contact ms support. Just wonderful... | Are you positive it is a Trial reminder? Or is it a message that you need to Activate Money Plus? -Mark "Juan" <Juan[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:7E5095A4-7C22-40D0-88E1-5C71F193E0EA[at]microsoft.com... - quote - > Cal, > I got 2008 (Money Plus Deluxe) from digitalriver, a direct link in > www.microsoft.com/money. | Cal, I got 2008 (Money Plus Deluxe) from digitalriver, a direct link in www.microsoft.com/money. I did installed the trail in a virtual machine to make sure my previous money file was going to import fine. At first I thought I had installed the trial version on vista (logged in as Administrator), but after going in to my order, re-downloading I noticed the file was the same, hence the 2nd, 3rd installs I did of money. When it opens up it "reminds me" that I'm using a trial version and that I should purchase it, otherwise, trial expiration is in July. I've emailed microsoft technical support and digitalriver so they can shed some light into this. I can't believe I fell for this. Thanks |

Cal, I didn't go back to the website to download the install again as I reinstalled using the right-click 'Run as administrator' option but it behaved in exactly the same way. Any other suggestions? I will download the file from findmyorder.com this evening when I return from work and have more time but I can't see it making a deal of difference. Thanks again for any assistance. |

| This just happened to me. The difference is I did't installed the trial, downloaded the one from my order details. It seems to be the trial version though, no activation prompts and when I try the tools-> online services menu, it only gives me an option to purchase. What is going on? This is important: keep a copy of the install file in case you want to install onto a second computer or to reinstall. Burn onto a CDR and/or other big-enough media for later use. You will probably have to uninstall the trial. Then install the install file by running the setup by right-clicking the setup file and choose RunAsAdministrator. |

| I installed the trial/demo version of Money Plus Deluxe some time ago. My trial period expired so I purchased the full version this evening. After installing the full version it still thinks I'm running the trial version. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the application and followed the help on the Knowledge Base article about resolving this issue but nothing has helped. I read a post on here about running the app in Standard User mode as opposed to Administrator mode but I can't see how to do that so I don't think it's relevant. MS Tech Support Chat is down at the moment so I'm helping somebody on here can help. Thanks. |
