That would not be a good way. If you and your Wife each had a file,
then switching would be easier with the most-recently-used list at
the bottom of the File menu. There is no problem having your and
your wife's holdings in the same file.

AccountList-> AddANewAccount to make a new account. Make it an
Investment account. Make it a Watch account if you are tracking
investments that you do not yet own. Do not make it a Watch account
if you are tracking actual holdings in that account.

On the Portfolio list, the GroupBy drop-down list lets you group by
Account (separates them) or Position (everything together).

ChangePortfolioView-> ShowWatchAccounts controls whether Watch
accounts are shown.

ChangePortfolioView-> ShowClosedPostions ....

Thanks for the replies. Yes, I am talking about Microsoft Money (Money
Plus). I'd basically like to use it to track investments.

It sounds like I need to create a separate file for each account. To switch
between files, then, I just have to do a File - Open, correct? It seems like
you should be able to do it in one file but whatever works. That would be
the only way, then, right?

Thanks again.

I assume you are talking about Microsoft Money. You and your wife
could have different Money files.

Within a single Money file you can create as many Investment
accounts as you want.. Each would have a unique name. In the
properties for the account, tick WatchAccount if the buys and sells
are pretend transactions.

Are we talking about Money the application or MSN Money the web site?

If Money the application, you can have separate data files or just separate
Investment Accounts in the same file--the Portfolio will show by Account.

Default Multiple Portolios

Hi All,
Is there a way to track multiple investment portolios? I've got several
portolios that server different functions. I've also got IRA's for me and my
wife. I do want to keep them all separate. Any ideas?

Thank you.
