Many banks have the resources but choose to require you to go to their bank web site. It's easier for them to maintain and control your experience as a customer. For those banks, MS uses a third party, Yodlee, to emulate logging into the banks web site and retrieve information on your behalf.> closed (and very helpful). | Great, Thanks Cal. With your answer I consider this question answered and this thread closed (and very helpful). I didn't understand the purpose of requiring a LiveID and I see that MSN collects the info from banks that do not have the resources to keep servers up and maintained etc for the purpose of dialing in with personal finance software. Thanks! -J |

There are some banks and lots of credit cards and plenty of brokers that fit that description. You will not need a LiveID on your file with Money Plus in that case. |

| Hi Guys, I'm looking for an option or a way to get my financial info updated automatically but without storing my data on MSN.com. Firstly it's totally not necessary for me to be able to access that from the internet AND after hearing the news the MS is now giving kits to law enforcement to open windows (incl the built-in encryption) I am most definitely NOT using their site for that purpose. I don't care about signing in with a LiveID but I don't want my data stored anywhere else except my PC. So, how can I do this? ![]() |
